The inaugural lecture of the Right Bank Aesthetic Education series on art history was presented by Professor Sun Naishu, a scholar of art education from East China Normal University, at the Northern Civic Center in Suzhou Industrial Park. Titled "The Art of Viewing — An Introduction," the lecture centered on the theme of "how to view art." Beginning with the fundamental concepts of art appreciation and following the trajectory of Western art, it guided the audience in understanding the ideas, styles, and movements of artistic creation across different historical periods, helping them establish a systematic approach to viewing art. Addressing the public's real questions about art appreciation with an in-depth yet accessible teaching style, the lecture built a bridge between art and the public. It also further embodied the philosophy of the Right Bank Aesthetic Education initiative, which seeks to bring art closer to the public and integrate it into daily life, laying a solid foundation for the continued development of the lecture series.
