Dimension of Materiality • The Boundless Shaping of Glass — A Series of Events

Co-curated by the Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art (Suzhou MoCA) and BIG, the thematic exhibition "BIG: MATERIALISM" returns to the most fundamental and essential unit of architecture—materiality. With this as our starting point, the "Dimension of Materiality" art initiative uses material as its entry point, focusing specifically on glass, the most significant physical element within the structure of Suzhou MoCA. We invite you to participate in this "materialist" practice through hands-on activities. By deconstructing, fusing, reassembling, and regenerating glass, you will discover the creative power that arises from the essence of matter and help reimagine the future of materials. The program consists of six interconnected workshops, each dedicated to a specific glass craft. Through a dialogue of "light, form, and material," participants will explore diverse possibilities, ranging from wearable structures to micro-architecture, infusing new narratives into discarded objects.
